Originally from Minnesota, Lawson is a growing filmmaker studying film and business at Loyola University Chicago. Lawson's passion lies in generating and amplifying empathy and collaboration in all of his work, academically, creatively, and professionally. Lawson's focus in film revolves predominantly around queer film and producing. He intends to synthesize his skills developed in his studies to support the development of creative projects and amplify the voices of queer filmmakers.

Currently, Lawson is producing Jack-O'-Jungle Juice, as part of Loyola's Collaboration Film Project. Directed by Paige Lynn and written by Megan Bradley, the film observes two queer women in a failing relationship at their first-ever frat party that unfortunately spirals into a frat-boy zombie apocalypse. JOJJ completed production on November 23rd, and is now undergoing post-production to premiere in April.

Lawson is now producing three more short films, all senior capstone projects, which are undergoing production throughout February and March. All three will be completed to premiere at the same end of year festival as JOJJ in April.
